Abida Parveen sings Bulleh Shah
This is a truly amazing performance of great Punjabi poetry by Baba Bulleh Shah:
Bulleh Shah says
Destroy the mosque
Destroy the temple
Do as you please...
Just do not break the human heart
For God dwells therein!
I agree with most of what Bulleh Shah says and I agree with how the idea fits into his general philosphy of people thinking they have satisfied some sort of spiritual/religious quota by simply GOING to some place that is known as a church, temple, mosque, where-ever BUT their hearts and minds are not there. And these places of worship become a hollow, misleading, and a false sense of acheivement or fulfillment.
Now, destroying those buildings will only break peoples' hearts!
Spreading his ideas and others like them is probably the best way for people to realize themselves. Not by causing irreprible social damage by destroying religious sites.
